Aftermath of Cluster Infections from Schools and Entertainment Venues... Gwangju COVID-19 Cases Re-enter 20s Range

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Three new COVID-19 cases were reported overnight in Gwangju Metropolitan City.

According to Gwangju City on the 7th, three people were confirmed positive last night and were classified as Gwangju cases 2472 to 2474.

One additional case (Gwangju 2472) related to Seongdeok High School in Gwangsan-gu, where 14 student cases had been confirmed, bringing the total to 15 confirmed cases.

Case Gwangju 2473 tested positive in a pre-release quarantine test and was found to have had contact with a confirmed case from another region.

Case Gwangju 2474 is linked to entertainment establishments in the Sangmu district, adding to the previously announced five cases, totaling six related confirmed cases.

The number of new confirmed cases in Gwangju yesterday was 21, marking the first time this month that the daily cases have reached the twenties.
