Goheung-gun, AZ Vaccine Pre-Reservation for COVID-19 Vaccination 실시

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 6th that it will implement advance reservations to facilitate smooth COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors aged 60-74, patients with chronic severe respiratory diseases, kindergarten and daycare teachers, and elementary school (grades 1-2) teachers.

Vaccination reservations for eligible groups aged 70-74 (born 1947-1951) and patients with chronic severe respiratory diseases began on the 6th; for those aged 65-69 (born 1952-1956), reservations start on the 10th; and for those aged 60-64 (born 1957-1961), kindergarten and daycare teachers, elementary school (grades 1-2) teachers, care workers, essential social workers, and healthcare care workers who were not vaccinated in the second quarter, reservations will be sequentially accepted starting on the 13th.

Advance reservation applicants can select a nearby designated medical institution within the county for vaccination. Those aged 65-74 and patients with chronic severe respiratory diseases can receive vaccinations starting from the 27th, while those aged 60-64, kindergarten and daycare teachers, elementary school (grades 1-2) teachers, care workers, essential social workers, and healthcare care workers who missed vaccination in the second quarter can receive vaccinations starting from the 7th of next month. The vaccine used will be AstraZeneca (AZ).

The AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine requires two doses, with the second dose administered 11-12 weeks after the first dose.

Reservations can be made through the ‘Online Advance Reservation Website,’ and for elderly individuals who have difficulty making online reservations, telephone reservation services are provided through the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Infectious Disease Call Center and the Goheung-gun Call Center.

Additionally, for vulnerable groups who have difficulty making reservations alone, if they visit the town or township office with their ID and a mobile phone registered in their name, assistance will be provided to help the elderly make online advance reservations themselves.

A county official stated, “As COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in the area recently, residents whose vaccination order has arrived are encouraged to actively participate in vaccination. If you are not feeling well the day before or on the day of vaccination, please contact the scheduled vaccination institution and receive the vaccine safely on a day when you are in good health.”

Meanwhile, the total number of eligible individuals aged 18 and over is 58,387. As of the previous day, 8,617 people have been vaccinated, representing a vaccination rate of 14.75% (based on first dose).
