[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The specifications of Samsung Electronics' budget tablet PC, the 'Galaxy Tab A7 Lite,' expected to be released next month, are becoming increasingly detailed.
On the 5th (local time), IT specialized media outlets GSM Arena and SamMobile cited the Google Play Store to reveal more detailed specifications of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite than before.
According to GSM Arena and others, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is expected to be released in two versions: an LTE cellular model and a Wi-Fi model. Looking at the overall specs, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is expected to have a display panel size of 8.4 to 8.7 inches, supporting a resolution of 800x1340 pixels. Additionally, it will be equipped with a Helio P22T processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 5100mAh battery capacity supporting 15W charging. Furthermore, it is expected to be available in two colors: black and silver.
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, introduced for the first time this time, is a lower-tier lineup of the Galaxy Tab A series. Samsung Electronics has operated the Galaxy Tab S series as its flagship tablet models and introduced the Galaxy Tab S Lite and Galaxy Tab A series as budget tablet models. Samsung Electronics received domestic radio certification for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite at the end of March, and earlier last month, it posted the official support page for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite on Samsung's European websites, including Russia and Germany.
Samsung Electronics is expected to further accelerate its efforts to expand its market share in the tablet market through the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite series. According to market research firm IDC, last year, Apple recorded a 32.5% market share in the tablet PC market, while Samsung recorded 19.1%, with a gap of 13.4 percentage points between the two companies. This is a decrease of more than 6 percentage points from the 19.5 percentage point gap in 2019.
