[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver is strengthening its 'Gift' service.
Naver announced on the 4th that it will launch a new 'Gift Shop' themed section. It is expected to compete with Kakao, which has shown strengths in the 'Mobile Gift' area.
Naver Gift is a service that allows users to send gifts through the 'Gift' button while searching or shopping for products. It features AI-based product recommendation technology that suggests preferred gifts by gender and age according to search terms or shows customized products by analyzing recent gift trends. From January to April this year, Naver Gift's transaction volume increased about eightfold compared to the same period last year.
Naver will enhance related curation through the Gift Shop themed section. The Gift Shop consists of a 'Theme-based Gift Edit Shop' recommending gifts for various situations, a 'Culture Shop' selecting works from SMEs and creators, and an 'Atelier Shop.'
The Gift Shop can be accessed through the shopping and life sections on the left side of the Naver app or by searching 'Gift' on mobile.
Im Junhyun, leader of Naver Gift, said, "Naver Gift is distinguished by a service flow designed to conveniently convey feelings and gifts in daily life, including products and brands too good to keep to oneself and Naver Pay point gifts," adding, "We plan to advance related services by combining the curation of the Gift Shop section with a unique product database and AI product recommendation technology to create new business opportunities."
