Gangdong-gu to Host 'Visiting Welfare Field Counseling Center' on April 30 Supporting Welfare, Employment, Housing, and Mental Health Consultations in One Place

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) held a "Visiting Welfare Field Counseling Center" on April 30th at 2 PM at Seongnae Traditional Market, providing consultations in four areas: welfare, employment, housing, and mental health all in one place.

The "Visiting Welfare Field Counseling Center" is a one-stop welfare service that connects residents to available services through professional consultations addressing their complex needs.

Since last year, the district has been operating counseling centers with professional counselors at places with high foot traffic such as traditional markets and subway stations to make it easier for residents to receive welfare service consultations.

At this "Visiting Welfare Field Counseling Center," Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, participated as an honorary counselor, listening to residents' opinions on district administration and welfare and conducting consultations. Additionally, the Gangdong-gu Public Health Center provided mental health services diagnosing the mental health status of residents exhausted by COVID-19.

Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon of Gangdong-gu said, "Today’s counseling center was a great opportunity not only to provide consultations on welfare services needed by residents but also to understand what welfare services residents want. We will listen carefully to voices from the field so that residents’ opinions can be reflected in the welfare policies promoted by the district."
