Total Project Cost 8.5 Billion KRW, Hyundai Steel Sinbang and Bukpyeong Seohong District Construction to Start in May
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 3rd that the detailed design service for the rural village sewage system improvement project in Hyeonsan Sinbang and Bukpyeong Seohong has been completed, and with a total project cost of 8.5 billion KRW, construction is set to begin aiming for completion in 2023.
The rural village sewage system improvement project involves closing individual septic tanks and connecting them to the public sewage system, collecting domestic wastewater at public sewage treatment facilities for purification.
In particular, with the closure of septic tanks installed in each household, it creates a pleasant residential environment by improving odors and has a significant effect on enhancing residents' quality of life.
Through this project, inconveniences experienced by approximately 220 households and about 460 residents of Hyeonsan Sinbang Village and Bukpyeong Seohong Village, who had suffered from odor generation and septic tank management due to the use of individual septic tanks, are expected to be resolved.
The rural village sewage system improvement project, aimed at improving rural residential environments and living conditions, is continuing construction this year to build sewage treatment plants and lay sewage pipelines in Hyeonsan Sideung, Songji Bangcheo, Gyegok Gahak, Gyegok Taein, Bukil Heungchon, and Bukpyeong Waryong districts.
Once the eight projects, including Hyeonsan Sinbang and Bukpyeong Seohong, are completed, the sewage coverage rate in Haenam-gun is expected to rise from 52.8% to 55.7%. Haenam-gun currently operates 47 public sewage treatment facilities.
County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, “We will continue to expand sewage systems in underserved rural areas through ongoing sewage projects to alleviate residents' inconveniences and do our best to create a pleasant living environment by improving the water quality of surrounding water bodies.”
