Russell Develops Three-Way Autonomous Forklift for Subsidiary... Boosts Stock Market Listing and Semiconductor Smart Factory Construction

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Automation equipment company Russel announced on the 3rd that its subsidiary Russel Robotics has completed the development of a 3-way Forklift AGV, an unmanned equipment for smart factories.

The 3-way Forklift AGV, independently developed by Russel Robotics, is a product that can freely move the forks in narrow aisles, enabling cargo transport and stacking from both sides of the aisle without the forklift rotating. It can be used in environments where it is difficult to deploy personnel, such as raw material warehouses and cold storage, and features a hybrid operation mode allowing manual control when necessary, providing operational flexibility.

A representative from Russel Robotics introduced the 3-way Forklift AGV as "a solution that enables 'inter-process logistics,' which is essential for maximizing factory efficiency and building smart factories." They added, "The existing standard model forklift AGV (STD Forklift AGV), a product encompassing the experience and technology gained from numerous domestic projects, is also expected to satisfy both efficiency and safety within smart factories."

Founded in 2012, Russel Robotics is a specialized company in unmanned process logistics equipment, leading the unmanned guided vehicle (AGV) market based on technology capable of controlling up to 100 unmanned transport devices. It holds the largest domestic reference in the AGV field and provides essential solutions for the domestic smart factory dissemination projects recently promoted by the government.

Since becoming a subsidiary of Russel in March last year, Russel Robotics successfully attracted external investment worth 2 billion KRW through the active support and network of its parent company Russel. It is currently pursuing an initial public offering (IPO) aiming for listing on the KOSDAQ market next year.

Kwon Soon-wook, CEO of Russel Robotics, stated, "Russel Robotics supplies equipment to numerous clients such as SK Hynix and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), and is highly evaluated for unmanned equipment operation and on-site optimization." He added, "Through technology development, we plan to take the lead in activating AI robots and service robots operable in daily life in the future."

Russel, the largest shareholder holding 42% of Russel Robotics shares, is jointly conducting smart factory construction projects in the domestic semiconductor, electrical and electronics, logistics, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors with Russel Robotics through its production automation division.
