Various Spaces Including Unique Rest Areas and 'Eastern Terrace' Featuring Famous Restaurants Nationwide
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd. will open the ‘Lotte Mall Yeosu Branch,’ a commercial district-specialized store tailored to customer lifestyles, on the 5th.
According to Lotte Shopping on the 3rd, ‘Lotte Mall Yeosu Branch’ is a store that reopens after remodeling the existing Lotte Mart Yeosu Branch.
With a sales area of 15,000m2 across three above-ground floors, the store was transformed during a five-month renewal period, boldly breaking away from the conventional large mart structure.
Combining a large mart strong in fresh and processed foods with a department store optimized for sensitive consumer trends such as fashion apparel and living, along with an H&B store specialized in fashion beauty products like cosmetics, the mall offers a lifestyle mall equipped with living, fashion, and culture that provides shopping as well as visual and culinary experiences simultaneously.
On the first floor, reflecting the characteristics of Yeosu where many people in their 20s and 30s reside, the size of the home meal replacement specialty zone was doubled compared to before, and wine specialty stores and camping goods specialty stores were expanded.
Additionally, the H&B specialty store ‘LOHB’s’ beauty and personal care product categories were increased fivefold, and health functional foods doubled, introducing a more specialized ‘LOHB’s Plus’ for the first time nationwide, occupying about 100 pyeong (approximately 330 square meters).
On the second floor, a unique resting space called the ‘Pocket Lounge’ was created to fully experience the Yeosu sea, incorporating sensory media art and nature. Collaborating with the jewelry brand ‘Eungabi,’ a ‘Crystal Tree’ was also installed, lavishly decorating circular pillars from floor to ceiling.
Furthermore, for the first time in the Yeosu area, ‘Mad for Garlic’ and a 200-pyeong (approximately 660 square meters) ‘Hanssem Rehouse’ were established, along with living-specialized stores such as ‘Samsung Electronics,’ ‘Tempur,’ ‘Downing,’ and ‘Daks Home Fashion,’ providing a one-stop shopping space from furniture to interior, home appliances, and living accessories.
The first luxury select shop in the Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang areas also opened. ‘TOPS,’ a store specializing in overseas luxury brands, operates products carefully selected directly by Lotte from Italy, France, and other countries, offering global steady sellers such as ‘Thom Browne,’ ‘Saint Laurent,’ and ‘Burberry,’ as well as seasonal items by brand.
On the third floor, the ‘Eastern Terrace’ was organized, gathering East Asian restaurants including Korean, Chinese, and Thai cuisines. It houses ‘Manchu’ by Chef Yu Bang-nyeong, one of the four great Chinese culinary cultures, and ‘Seongsu Myeonok,’ a brand of the Korean beef specialty aged era.
The bakery cafe ‘Noah’s Roasting’ in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul, which is the background of the webtoon by food critic Heo Young-man, was created in a space overlooking the wide Yeosu sea.
It offers a complex cultural space where major tourist attractions and the Yeosu sea can be viewed at a glance, including a bookstore and baking classroom, expected to become a hot spot on social media.
Additionally, reflecting the regional characteristic of many kids’ moms, a kids-specialized space called ‘Dongsim Maru’ was introduced, gathering children’s books, educational materials, and supplies in one place.
Kang Sung-hyun, CEO of Lotte Mart, said, “We tried to implement a new type of store tailored to the characteristics of the commercial district and customers by breaking away from the standardized format,” adding, “We will make this renewal a successful case and continue to expand Lotte Mart’s new space innovation stores.”
