[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Ki-dong] Mokpo National Science University (President Lee Seung-hoon) recently announced on the 3rd that it held an industry-academia cooperation network council with local related organizations involved in job creation support projects, national technical certification acquisition, volunteer activities, and other related institutions.
The event was conducted for the purpose of the Ministry of Education's Lifelong Education System Support Project (LIFE Project), and 12 institutions and industries participated, including the Mokpo Employment Center of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Jeonnam Western Branch of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center, all active in the region.
Park Sung-soo, Director of the Adult Learner Support Center at Mokpo National Science University, said in his greeting, “Our Mokpo National Science University has consistently supported mid-to-late career job creation projects such as employment education and career transition education for adult learners in the region,” adding, “Cooperation from related local institutions and organizations is very necessary for these projects,
and we ask for active support and interest from institutions, organizations, and industries operating in the region.”
Before the event, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on industry-academia cooperation was also signed with four related organizations, including the Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Mid-to-Late Career Job Hope Center.
The Future Convergence Department of Mokpo National Science University consists of the Human Convergence Welfare Department and the Construction Convergence Department, and over the past two years, it has received approximately 900 million KRW annually from the Ministry of Education to carry out various projects such as developing and operating curricula for adult learners, improving the educational environment, providing LIFE scholarships, and supporting employment and startup activities.
