[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Broadcaster Park Narae, recently embroiled in a sexual harassment controversy and subjected to a police investigation as a result, has revealed her feelings.
On the afternoon of the 30th, on MBC's entertainment show 'I Live Alone,' Park Narae broke down in tears in front of her grandfather and grandmother, who were worried about the controversy surrounding her.
Park Narae also showed tears in the studio, saying, "I reflected a lot because I think I disappointed many people. I felt sorry to our members as well because it seemed they were being affected because of me."
That day, her grandfather and grandmother advised her, saying, "If you made a mistake, you should admit it, overcome it, and make efforts," and "You always have to be careful. Life is really hard to live."
Actor Kwak Do-won, watching the video, joked, "You must have lived without receiving many curses," to which Park Narae laughed and replied, "I guess so, more than I thought."
In response, Kian84 said, "Narae, you and I have to do well."
Park Narae bowed her head and said, "I will take this as an opportunity to reflect more and try not to make mistakes by showing a better side."
Earlier, Park Narae caused controversy by making sexual remarks while introducing a male doll on the web entertainment show 'Hey Narae' on the YouTube channel Studio Waffle.
In the video, Park Narae changed the clothes of a male doll called 'Armstrong Man' and even moved the doll's arm toward the crotch area, making sexually harassing jokes.
The production team made the video private and issued an official apology. Park Narae also released a handwritten apology letter.
Meanwhile, the police received a complaint this month through the National Sinmungo requesting an investigation into Park Narae for illegal information distribution under the Information and Communications Network Act and have completed the complainant's investigation.
The police have requested and received the materials from the production company since the problematic video was deleted, and plan to review whether this is a matter subject to criminal punishment.
Park Narae's side stated, "We will sincerely cooperate with the police investigation."
