[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 30th at 1:30 PM that 42 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there were 17 in Sacheon, 11 in Gimhae, 6 in Jinju, 4 in Changwon, 2 in Miryang, 1 in Yangsan, and 1 in Haman.
Among the confirmed cases in Sacheon, 8 were all related to a Sacheon entertainment bar and were classified as cases 3880~3883, 3885, 3886, 3888, and 3889 after testing positive.
Epidemiological investigation revealed that after one entertainment bar worker and one patron tested positive the previous day, the worker visited multiple entertainment establishments.
With the cooperation of the Sacheon branch of the Korea Entertainment Food Service Association, the quarantine authorities tested about 140 workers and patrons of all entertainment establishments in Sacheon City, resulting in 8 additional confirmed cases. The epidemiological links are under in-depth investigation.
Accordingly, all 210 entertainment and danran bars in Sacheon City voluntarily closed from the 29th until May 2nd.
Four people tested positive after contact with confirmed cases from other regions and were classified as cases 3875~3877 and 3879.
Among them, cases 3877 and 3879 were confirmed to be employees of a company in Hadong.
The previous day, two confirmed cases from Jeonnam occurred at the company, leading to tests on 217 people. The results showed 2 positive, 7 negative, and 208 still under testing.
Hadong County quarantine authorities have set up a screening clinic at the company to test additional contacts.
Three people tested positive as confirmed cases related to a Sacheon restaurant and were classified as cases 3873, 3874, and 3878. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Sacheon restaurant to 66.
The remaining two tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 3884 and 3887.
Among the confirmed cases in Gimhae, four were related to a tutoring academy and were classified as cases 3860, 3862, 3865, and 3891 after testing positive. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the tutoring academy in Gimhae to 41.
Four others tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 3866, 3867, 3892, and 3900.
The remaining three tested positive after voluntarily getting tested due to symptoms and were classified as cases 3868, 3898, and 3899.
Among the confirmed cases in Jinju, three were family members of existing confirmed cases and tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province, classified as cases 3869, 3870, and 3893.
Among them, case 3870 was confirmed to be a high school student in Jinju. Quarantine authorities are testing a total of 35 people, including 24 students and 11 staff members at the school.
Two tested positive after voluntarily getting tested due to symptoms and were classified as cases 3895 and 3896.
The remaining one was an overseas entrant who developed symptoms during quarantine and tested positive, classified as case 3894.
Among the confirmed cases in Changwon, two tested positive after voluntarily getting tested due to symptoms and were classified as cases 3861 and 3890.
The remaining two were family members of confirmed cases within the province and tested positive, classified as cases 3864 and 3897.
The two confirmed cases in Miryang tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 3859 and 3863.
The one confirmed case in Yangsan tested positive after symptom onset and was classified as case 3872.
The one confirmed case in Haman was an overseas entrant who tested positive before quarantine release and was classified as case 3871.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 3,897 (487 hospitalized, 3,396 discharged, 14 deceased).
