[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] K Shopping announced on the 30th that starting from the 3rd of next month, it will offer various benefits such as up to 10% discount coupons by membership tier and free use of the K Play service to mobile and online members based on their purchase history.
K Shopping membership is operated in three tiers: Family, Silver, and Gold. Membership tiers are assigned on the 1st of each month based on the purchase amount and frequency over the previous six months as of the 20th of the prior month.
New customers and customers with purchases under 50,000 KRW, classified as the Family tier, receive a 5% discount coupon and a 3,000 KRW coupon. Newly registered members can enjoy benefits immediately from the month of registration. Silver tier members (one purchase of 50,000 KRW or more) receive a 7% discount coupon and a 5,000 KRW coupon, while Gold tier members (two purchases totaling 100,000 KRW) receive a 10% discount coupon and a 10,000 KRW coupon.
Customers in the Silver tier or higher can enjoy various VOD content for free on K Play. Launched in March, K Play is a content service accessible to all K Shopping members through the K Shopping mobile app without requiring a separate app installation or membership payment.
KTH Executive Vice President Kim Taehwan said, “We simplified K Shopping membership into three tiers and set the criteria lower than competitors so that more customers can enjoy the benefits. We will also expand differentiated services unique to K Shopping, such as free K Play VOD usage benefits, in the future.”
