[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 29th that at the board meeting held on the same day, it resolved to provide a total of 63.2 billion KRW in incentives to excellent partner companies in the DS Division, which is responsible for the semiconductor business. The purpose is to prevent safety accidents in the workplace, improve quality, and promote mutual growth with partner companies.
The incentive recipients are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) among the first- and second-tier partner companies stationed in the DS Division. Based on evaluations of each company, incentives will be paid according to the evaluation grades to SMEs that meet a certain grade among the 269 SMEs.
The payment method involves Samsung Electronics contributing the payment amount to the Foundation for Large and Small Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperation, which then distributes the funds to each SME. Evaluations will be conducted twice a year, in the first and second halves, with payments split and made in July this year and February next year.
Samsung Electronics expects the total payment scale for all partner companies stationed in the DS Division to be approximately 88 billion KRW.
