Operation of Gender Equality Fund Support Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] San-encheong Welfare Center announced on the 29th that it has been selected for the Gender Equality Support Project hosted by Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam for four consecutive years and will operate the ‘SnC Coffee Class.’
The ‘SnC Coffee Class’ is operated with the goal of providing people with disabilities opportunities to acquire social life and interpersonal skills, as well as leisure activities.
Under the guidance of an instructor with a professional barista qualification, the class is conducted in a combined theoretical and practical manner. The project plans to hold meetings, field trips to advanced sites, and hands-on experiences to improve practical skills, as well as challenge participants to obtain barista certification.
Participants will learn basic understanding of coffee, various types of coffee, and the hand drip process that determines the taste of coffee. In particular, field trips and on-site experiences will provide various experiences such as how to use coffee machines.
A welfare center official stated, “‘SnC Coffee Class’ is a fresh idea that has continuously received positive responses from participants,” and added, “We will continue to add new elements and strive to establish it as a beneficial program that aligns with its purpose.”
