Local Road 1099 Expansion and Opening from Geochang Namha-myeon to Gajo Oncheon Section

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 29th that it has completed the widening and expansion construction of Local Road No. 1099 'Namha~Gajo Road' and will open a total length of 5.66 km section connecting Jisan-ri, Namha-myeon, Geochang-gun to Giri, Gajo-myeon.

A total of 20.2 billion KRW was invested in this construction, and four new bridges including Gacheon Bridge and two intersections were newly installed.

The province expanded the existing single lane, which was not smooth for vehicle passing, into a two-lane road with a width of 9.5 m, and reduced the risk of traffic accidents through facility improvements.

With this opening, accessibility to major tourist destinations in the northwest region of Gyeongnam, such as Gajo Oncheon, Wudusan (Y-shaped suspension bridge), and nearby Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon, is improved, contributing to the revitalization of the local tourism industry.

In addition, it is expected to help logistics of infrastructure by establishing a connected road network with nearby industrial production facilities such as Geochang General Industrial Complex and Elevator Specialized Industrial Complex.

Meanwhile, the province plans to complete the road connecting Muan-myeon to Bubuk-myeon in Miryang City within this year.
