Lee Eun-jeong, Former Police University Dean, Appointed as Chairperson of the Sports Ethics Center


The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 29th that it has appointed Lee Eun-jung, former president of the Korean National Police University, as the chairman of the Sports Ethics Center. The appointment ceremony will be held on the afternoon of the 30th at the Ministry’s Copyright Protection Division Seoul Office. The new chairman has extensive public service experience, having served as the Police Bureau Personnel Planning Officer at the National Police Agency and as the chief of the Mapo Police Station in Seoul. She is also recognized for her outstanding leadership during her tenure as the principal of the Central Police Academy and president of the Korean National Police University. The Ministry stated, “From 2017 to 2018, while serving as the head of the Community Safety Department at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, she handled issues related to women’s protection and sex crimes based on her sensitivity to human rights and professional knowledge,” adding that she is “the right person to lead the creation of a fair sports ecosystem.”
