Supporting Quality Improvement of Brand and Knowledge Services through ‘Ham Bakkabokka’ Platform
Mutual Business Elevating Small Business Brands and Pro
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency have launched a project to enhance the competitiveness and quality of small business brands. The platform handling the project is named ‘Ham Bakkabokka,’ which is the Gyeongsang-do dialect for ‘Shall we change it?’
Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-joon) announced on the 29th that it will carry out the ‘Small Business Brand and Knowledge Service Quality Improvement Project’ targeting small business owners.
Through the ‘Ham, Bakkabokka’ platform, Busan City matches small business owners with expert groups to provide support in design, tax accounting, intellectual property services, and more.
The ‘Ham, Bakkabokka’ platform is a system connecting small business owners and designers, simplifying the complicated procedures for small business owners so that demand and supply parties can communicate easily and quickly.
When a small business owner posts a request on the platform, the expert group reviews the content, posts portfolios, and the small business owner directly views and selects the expert, enabling matching.
Eligible applicants are small business operators located in Busan, excluding those who have reported temporary or permanent closure or are recognized as being effectively closed, as well as businesses that have already received support for the same business between 2019 and 2020.
The city plans to select and support a total of 460 businesses this year. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Busan Metropolitan City Small Business Hope Center until the 14th of next month.
Demanders submit support applications, and suppliers (companies, freelancers) submit business registration certificates, portfolios, and other supporting documents to ‘Ham, Bakkabokka,’ which are reviewed before final selection.
The supported services cover five fields and eleven items: ▲visual design ▲editorial design ▲industrial design ▲video and photography ▲knowledge services.
Applicants can apply for the necessary items and receive support up to 1 million KRW. This year, the intellectual property field has been newly added to the knowledge services category, where specialized consultants from the Busan Knowledge Center provide consulting on patents, utility models, designs, trademarks, and more.
Additionally, Busan City will select outstanding cases of quality improvement and provide incentives. Through a professional committee, three companies with excellent results will be awarded certificates of commendation, and the top five companies will be selected as outstanding designers on the platform and featured accordingly.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon of Busan said, “I hope this will be an opportunity to add value to the brands and products of small business owners, enhancing their competitiveness and added value, while providing employment opportunities to the local knowledge service industry and talents.”
The Busan Economic Promotion Agency manages the overall aspects of this project.
