On the 22nd, prior to the regular meeting of the Dong Council held at the Future Planning Office, Seongbuk-gu conducted an appointment ceremony for 19 new members of the Dong Council.

New appointees include activists from various fields such as local welfare facility workers, businesspeople, religious institutions, neighborhood leaders, and women's association members who have been actively working to promote welfare in the community.

The appointed members will lead efforts in each Dong Council for two years by establishing a system to identify vulnerable groups at the Dong level to eliminate welfare blind spots, discovering and linking local welfare resources, checking on vulnerable households, and connecting resources.

A Seongbuk-gu official stated, "In March, we appointed nine experts from various fields as new members of the representative council, and with the 19 new members of the Dong Council working together this time, we expect synergy and substantial progress in promoting local welfare."

Yoon Jae-sung, Chairman of the Dong Council Committee, said, "We will do our best to help neighbors facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, discover welfare blind spots, and connect local resources."

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "With the Dong Council, which watches over neighbors and seeks solutions even in places where administrative reach is limited, we are realizing a welfare Seongbuk without exclusion," and added, "We will actively support and encourage the activities of the newly appointed members."

Additionally, Seongbuk-gu plans to hold a workshop to express gratitude to members who have continuously contributed as the Seongbuk-gu Dong Council marks its 10th anniversary in May and to promote future development.
