[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Andong City Health Center announced that from the 28th, it will urgently suspend general medical treatment, vaccinations, and issuance of various certificates such as health certificates and medical examination certificates.
Andong City explained that this is an unavoidable situation as most of the medical staff at the health institution are deployed for epidemiological investigations due to the occurrence of COVID-19 patients and the operation of the vaccination center (Andong Gymnasium).
Andong City Health Center had suspended medical treatment last December to fully respond to prevent the spread of COVID-19 nationwide and resumed it in March this year.
Guidance on prescribed medicines for patients previously treated and issuance of certificates for completed tests will continue. General medical treatment and issuance of health certificates are also available at external hospitals and clinics.
An official from Andong City Health Center said, "Due to the continuous occurrence of confirmed cases in the area following the resurgence of COVID-19, we have inevitably suspended operations," and urged, "Please strictly follow personal quarantine rules such as habitual mask-wearing and refraining from gatherings."
Meanwhile, in Andong City, 18 people were sequentially confirmed over a week from the 20th to the 27th, and confirmed cases of residents in Yeongju City who had contact with them are also appearing. In nearby Yeongju City, on the 28th, three additional people who had close contact with Andong City confirmed case number 244 tested positive.
