"Self-Diagnose Management Crisis with 11-Item Checklist"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 27th that they will publish a report containing 11 types of management crises that may occur in small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, along with corresponding response measures.

SBC presented an 11-item management crisis checklist covering management areas such as ▲external response ▲profitability ▲competitiveness ▲financial management; technology management areas such as ▲technology leakage ▲technology development ▲data management ▲human resource management; and production management areas such as ▲productivity ▲safety management ▲quality and site management.

To this end, SBC investigated the causes of management failure based on corporate evaluation data of 55,042 companies that received policy funds from 2017 to 2019. By reviewing the evaluation results and causes of insolvency of failed companies, the report introduces detailed contents by factor and includes response strategies such as countermeasures and key points.

SBC also disclosed 37 failure and overcoming cases categorized by types of management crises. These cases were collected through direct engagement with companies in the field, providing an opportunity to indirectly experience crisis situations and response measures that companies may face. The report can be accessed on the SBC website under the publications board. Chairman Kim Hak-do stated, "I hope that the 11 management crisis checklists and response strategies presented in this report will serve as a helpful guide for companies to grow into healthy enterprises."
