On the afternoon of the 23rd, Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, held a meeting at the Seoul Metropolitan Child Counseling and Treatment Center with Yoo Eun-hye, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, and directors from related departments including the Ministry of Health and Welfare, National Police Agency, and Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to discuss measures for child and youth protection.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 23rd, Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, held a meeting at the Seoul Metropolitan Child Counseling and Treatment Center with Yoo Eun-hye, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, and directors from related departments including the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the National Police Agency, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to devise measures for the protection of children and adolescents.

This meeting was organized to inspect the field and discuss overall improvement plans to resolve the recently surfaced issue of child abuse.

In particular, officials directly responsible for child and adolescent protection and child abuse investigations in the field attended together, providing a special opportunity to convey voices from the field.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will carefully listen to the valuable opinions raised at today’s meeting and reflect them in district administration. We will do our best to prevent child abuse through collaboration with related departments and institutions.”
