[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency apprehended 17 drunk drivers over a two-hour period starting at 10 p.m. on the 22nd at major roads and locations vulnerable to drunk driving within the jurisdiction.

The highest detected blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.182%. Among those caught, 10 had BAC levels above 0.08%, the threshold for license cancellation, and 7 had BAC levels between 0.03% and less than 0.08%, the suspension range.

The crackdown involved about 210 officers from 13 local police stations and the highway patrol unit, along with 44 patrol vehicles.

The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency plans to continue conducting spot checks around the clock throughout the year.
