Performing EPC Tasks Including Design, Procurement, and Construction of 98MW Floating Solar Power Plant

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Hanyang announced on the 23rd that it has won the contract for the 98MW-scale 'Haechangman Floating Solar EPC Project' ordered by Goheung New Energy.

This project involves constructing a total 98MW floating solar power plant, with 48.5MW in the first phase and 49.5MW in the second phase, on approximately 792,000㎡ of land around Haechangman, Podu-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do. Hanyang will carry out EPC tasks including design, procurement of materials, and construction for this project. Construction is scheduled to begin this month and be completed by October next year.

The total contract amount is approximately KRW 164.2 billion, of which Hanyang's contract amount accounts for about 60%, or KRW 98.2 billion.

Hanyang is recognized for establishing a leading position in the renewable energy sector, including solar and wind power. Last year, it completed and is operating the 'Solar City Solar Power Plant,' the largest onshore solar power facility in Korea with a capacity of 98MW and the world's largest energy storage system (ESS) with 306MWh capacity. Additionally, it is advancing projects such as the 73MW floating solar power project for the Korea Rural Community Corporation and the 63MW Goheungman floating solar EPC project, accelerating its pursuit of 'renewable energy development and EPC' businesses including onshore and floating solar and wind power.

A Hanyang official stated, "This year, we have consecutively succeeded in securing large-scale solar projects, including the Goheungman floating solar EPC project and the current Haechangman floating solar EPC project, achieving tangible results in the energy business sector," adding, "Along with our core housing business, we will establish a mid- to long-term growth foundation for the company through business diversification."
