[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] The Hallasan National Park Office of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 23rd that the entry and exit times for Hallasan will be extended and adjusted from July 1 to August 31.
The extension adjustment was implemented to provide convenience to visitors of Hallasan as daytime hours during the summer season (May to August) are longer than those in the spring and autumn seasons.
The entry time will be adjusted from 5:30 AM to 5:00 AM, and the entry and exit times will be extended by a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour depending on the course.
The detailed changes are as follows: ▲ Eorimok and Yeongsil Course (trail entrance): 2:00 PM → 3:00 PM ▲ From Witseooreum Shelter to Nambyeok Junction: 1:30 PM → 2:00 PM ▲ Seongpanak Course (Azalea Field Shelter): 12:30 PM → 1:00 PM ▲ Gwaneumsa Course (Samgakbong Shelter): 12:30 PM → 1:00 PM ▲ Donnaeko Course (Information Center): 10:30 AM → 11:00 AM ▲ Eoseungsaengak Course (trail entrance): 5:00 PM → 6:00 PM, etc.
Kim Geun-yong, head of the Hallasan National Park Office, said, “Due to temperature differences caused by irregular weather changes at high altitudes, there is a risk of safety accidents,” and urged, “For safe hiking, visitors should prepare extra clothing, gloves, hats, and sufficient drinking water.”
