[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Traditional liquor company Kooksoondang announced on the 22nd that it will exclusively launch 18 types of wine under the wine brand 'Jean-Claude Boisset' in Korea for the first time, in collaboration with the Boisset Family, the largest wine-making family in France.
The Jean-Claude Boisset brand began in 1961 when 18-year-old Jean-Claude Boisset purchased the Gevrey-Chambertin vineyard in Burgundy, France, and started producing wine. Currently, they produce excellent quality wines by purchasing outstanding vineyards in Burgundy or through long-term contracts with vineyard owners. The Boisset family is a world-renowned wine family with operations extending from Burgundy to California, USA.
Jean-Claude Boisset is the core brand among the Burgundy wineries owned by the Boisset family. It is professionally supplied to famous hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, and due to its very limited production volume, it is exported in a restricted manner.
Kooksoondang began its wine business in 2003 by acquiring Haitai & Company (formerly Haitai Industry). Through the wine business, it has been able to understand the trends of the global liquor market and apply the harmony of alcohol and food to promote Korean traditional liquor in the global market. Currently, it imports and sells over 300 types of wines ranging from value wines to premium wines.
