[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 22nd that it has launched a 300mL product of its carbonated drink brand "Chilsung Cider" without a label, called "Chilsung Cider ECO."
This product follows the launch of "Icis 8.0 ECO," the first domestic bottled water brand to remove labels in January last year. It was introduced in response to the recent rise of eco-friendly trends and the increasing number of consumers seeking label-free products.
"Chilsung Cider ECO" applies the green color symbolizing Chilsung Cider on the bottle cap, and the brand name and star are embossed on the lower part of the package to maintain the existing brand image and identity. Instead of a label, all required information such as product name, expiration date, and nutritional facts are printed on the bundled packaging box.
Additionally, Lotte Chilsung Beverage will participate in the "Eco-friendly Product Relay" Naver Shopping Live starting at 1 PM on Earth Day. They will introduce and sell eco-friendly beverage products including "Chilsung Cider ECO," and plan to donate 4% of the day's sales (2% each from Lotte Chilsung Beverage and Naver) to environmental organizations through "Happy Bean."
Meanwhile, in December 2019, Lotte Chilsung Beverage switched Chilsung Cider bottles from the traditional green color to recyclable clear transparent PET bottles to align with eco-friendly policies aimed at preserving clean and pure nature and fulfilling social responsibility.
