Checking Operation Status and Encouraging Facility Staff at 6 Locations Including Oryu 2-dong and Cheonwang Forest on the 16th and 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Sung, the mayor of Guro District, visited six Our Neighborhood Care Centers in the area over two days on the 16th and 20th.
This visit was conducted to inspect the recently opened Our Neighborhood Care Centers to ensure there are no gaps in care services during the COVID-19 situation.
On the 16th, Mayor Lee visited Cheonwangsup, Oryu 2-dong, and Onsu-dong centers, and on the 20th, he visited Guro 3-dong, Gaebong Convergence-type, and Hang-dong Our Neighborhood Care Centers. After touring the facilities and receiving reports on their operations, he encouraged the facility staff.
The mayor urged the facility staff, saying, "During the COVID-19 situation, Our Neighborhood Care Centers have become a reliable support for parents and children," and added, "Please continue to ensure thorough facility management so that children can be entrusted without worry."
Our Neighborhood Care Centers are after-school care facilities for elementary students operated through cooperation between Seoul City and local districts, providing universal care services regardless of income, such as homework assistance and sending children to academies.
Since 2019, Guro District has opened and operated a total of 15 Care Centers in the area.
