Dongdaemun-gu Assigns Building, Floor, and Unit Numbers to Multi-family Houses

Receive Detailed Address and Resident Registration Certificate (Copy/Extract) Correction Requests On-Site Without Visiting Government Offices for One-Stop Processing

Dongdaemun-gu Assigns Building, Floor, and Unit Numbers to Multi-family Houses

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is promoting a ‘One-Stop Service for Assigning Detailed Addresses to Multi-Family Houses, etc.’, which assigns detailed addresses and simultaneously corrects the resident registration records (certificates of residence and family relations) upon application from owners or tenants of one-room or multi-family houses.

The detailed address system is a system that assigns building numbers followed by unit, floor, and room numbers to multi-family houses, similar to apartment complexes, allowing these to be used as legal addresses.

Unlike apartments, residents of multi-family houses without detailed addresses face difficulties in location identification during emergencies, making them vulnerable to safety risks. They also experience various problems such as losing important mail due to the absence of unit numbers on postal items.

To solve these issues, the district has established a three-year plan targeting 3,895 buildings without detailed addresses. This year, the one-stop detailed address service will be promoted for 1,296 buildings located in Sinseol-dong, Yongdu-dong, Jegi-dong, and Jeonnong-dong, leading the activation of detailed address usage.

For assigning detailed addresses, district office staff visit the site directly and submit the application form after obtaining the resident’s consent to correct their resident registration address.

Through this, detailed address assignment and resident registration correction can be completed at once.

The district expects that this service will eliminate the inconvenience of residents having to visit the district office to apply for detailed addresses and then visiting the local community service center to apply for resident registration corrections.

For more information, contact the Real Estate Information Division of Dongdaemun-gu Office.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We have launched this one-stop service so that residents living in multi-family houses can easily receive detailed addresses and improve their daily convenience. We will continue to implement various policies for the safety and convenience of our residents.”
