[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Actress Kim Bu-seon appeared at the trial for the damages claim lawsuit she filed against Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and pleaded, "Please let me be compensated with money for the unfair treatment."

The 16th Civil Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Chief Judge Woo Gwan-je) held the first hearing on the 21st for the 300 million won damages claim lawsuit Kim filed against Governor Lee.

In court, Kim said, "Regardless of intention, I feel miserable and humiliated being caught up in politicians' fights," and appealed, "Please do not judge this politically and let me receive compensation. Only then can I survive."

Kim filed the lawsuit at the Seoul Eastern District Court in September 2018, claiming mental and financial damages after being labeled as a pathological liar and habitual drug user during the 'actress scandal' allegations.

Kim also filed complaints against Governor Lee for violating the Public Official Election Act and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, but withdrew the defamation complaint saying, "I no longer want to suffer." The prosecution decided not to indict on the Public Official Election Act violation charge due to lack of evidence proving the scandal.
