Governor Kim Kyung-soo and Over 200 Guests Attend Successful Opening Ceremony

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The opening ceremony of the Hamyang Daebongsan Recreation Valley, which attracted public attention as the longest monorail and zipline in the country, was held on the 21st around Hamyang Daebongsan.

According to Hamyang County, about 200 internal and external guests, including Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, and Seo Chun-soo, Mayor of Hamyang County, as well as heads of various organizations, attended the event, marking the start of the Hamyang Daebongsan era.

The opening ceremony, which began with a pre-event performance by the Dabyeot Pungmul Troupe, proceeded with Mayor Seo's commemorative speech, Governor Kim's congratulatory address, followed by a ceremony and tape-cutting. After the main event, attendees toured the longest monorail (3.93 km) and zipline (3.27 km) facilities.

Governor Kim said, "Among many recreational facilities nationwide, I think Daebongsan's strength lies in its scale and height," adding, "Like its name Skyland, I hope it becomes the best recreational facility against the backdrop of Jirisan, which can be called the roof of Korea."

Mayor Seo stated, "I believe the greatest value of Daebongsan Recreation Valley is safety. We will do our best to ensure it is a safe facility where people can rest comfortably as if at home."

Meanwhile, Daebongsan Recreation Valley, operated through Interpark advance reservations, currently has a large number of bookings, with all facilities of Camping Land and Skyland, whose reservations started on the 1st and 15th respectively, sold out on weekends.
