[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Jangheung County announced that County Governor Jeong Jong-sun joined the challenge on the 21st to condemn the Myanmar military coup and support the restoration of democracy.

Governor Jeong, who was nominated by Hwang In-hong, Governor of Muju County, Jeonbuk, held a placard with the phrase "Everything Will Be OK!"?the slogan on the T-shirt worn by Ma Kyal Sin, who died from military gunfire while participating in an anti-coup protest last March?and gave the three-finger salute symbolizing freedom, democracy, and elections.

The "Support Challenge for the Restoration of Myanmar Democracy" is being conducted to send solidarity and support to the people of Myanmar, who are resisting the military's declaration of a state of emergency following the coup against the civilian government led by State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and are fighting for democracy.

Governor Jeong Jong-sun said, "I support the people of Myanmar who are fighting against the military's violent suppression for the restoration of democracy, and I hope that everything will be resolved soon so that Myanmar can return to its peaceful state as before."

Governor Jeong nominated Kang In-gyu, Mayor of Naju City, Jeonnam, as the next participant in the challenge.
