'Tattoo, Between Painter and Sculptor' Held in Changwon

100th Anniversary of Tattoo Birth, 'Visiting Tattoo Art Museum' Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Changwon City Masan Moonshin Art Museum will hold an exhibition titled "Moonshin: Painter and Sculptor, In Between" in the lobby of Changwon City Hall starting from the 19th to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Moonshin's birth in 2022.

The Moonshin Art Museum introduces an exhibition through the Traveling Moonshin Art Museum that allows visitors to comprehensively view works spanning Moonshin's activities as both a painter and a sculptor.

This exhibition was planned to expand cultural enjoyment for citizens who are exhausted from the pandemic era.

The exhibition is divided into two spaces and will be held in the lobby of the 1st floor and the Culture and Arts Department lobby on the 4th floor of the Changwon City Hall main building.

In the 1st floor lobby, visitors can see large plaster sculptures from Moonshin's sculptor period, scenes of him creating wooden sculptures, and exhibition materials such as posters from overseas activities that made his name widely known.

In the Culture and Arts Department lobby on the 4th floor, painter Moonshin mainly depicted the landscapes of his hometown Masan during his childhood, and from the 1950s onward, his style tended toward abstraction.

Starting with his representative sculpture "The Man of the Sun," created during his stay in France, visitors can also appreciate "Olympic 1988," which he exhibited at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

The planned exhibition will run until the 29th and will continue as a traveling exhibition within Changwon City Hall as the "Traveling Moonshin Art Museum."
