On the same day, the city held the '2050 Carbon Neutrality Starts Now, Starting with Me! Practice Declaration Ceremony' in front of City Hall with 20 climate and environmental activists, including the Gyeongnam Climate Crisis Emergency Action and the Changwon Sustainable Development Council.
Following this, a large promotional banner with messages encouraging climate action in daily life and urging everyone to join climate action for the future of children was attached to the side of a public bus.
Events held by the city during Climate Change Week include nationwide lights-out events, a bicycle commuting challenge, five climate action practices on Changwon City's Climate Action Day, and a competition for joining the carbon point system in apartment complexes.
Mayor Heo Seong-moo, who participated in the campaign, said, "As a result of continuously implementing water quality improvement policies for rivers and Masan Bay together with citizens, we have achieved great success with various species such as eelgrass, sweetfish, salmon, and otters returning to our vicinity." He emphasized, "The global climate issue requires recognizing that we are currently facing a climate crisis, and based on this awareness, more people must practice and act together to solve it."
