[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 20th that it will reduce water and sewage fees for self-employed individuals and small business owners to revive the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The county decided to reduce the fees as a measure to share the burden of small business owners who are struggling due to gathering bans and business restrictions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The reduction targets self-employed individuals and small business owners facing operational difficulties, cutting 50% of the water and sewage fees billed for May and June.
Accordingly, it is expected that a total of 264 million KRW will be reduced, with 214 million KRW for water supply from 2,541 accounts and 50 million KRW for sewage from 1,406 accounts.
Previously, the county also reduced water and sewage fees amounting to 520 million KRW last year for all 15,566 subscribers.
A county official said, “We hope this water and sewage fee reduction measure will provide some help to local self-employed individuals and small business owners who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.”
