[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] On the 19th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has launched on-site quarantine inspections targeting multi-use facilities such as restaurants and cafes, where COVID-19 confirmed cases are mainly occurring.
On this day, the joint inspection team checked the quarantine status of restaurants and cafes during lunchtime, when many visitors use these facilities.
This inspection focused on whether basic quarantine rules were being followed by each facility, whether the allowed number of users was posted at the entrance of multi-use facilities, and checked the preparation of entry logs and use of safe numbers by all entrants.
They also listened to the difficulties and opinions of small business owners such as restaurants and cafes regarding quarantine measures including the social distancing stages for COVID-19.
The county has been actively enforcing the one-strike-out policy, recently identifying violations of the ban on private gatherings of five or more people and imposing fines of 100,000 won each on two violators.
Additionally, the inspection team, composed of 48 members from six departments, plans to conduct focused inspections on 16 quarantine-vulnerable facilities including entertainment venues, singing practice rooms, restaurants and cafes, academies, bathhouses, and call centers until the 23rd.
A county official said, “We understand the difficulties faced by many small business owners due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “We appreciate the efforts of managers of multi-use facilities in the area to comply with quarantine rules and their cooperation with the county.”
He continued, “With 600 to 700 confirmed cases occurring nationwide and cluster infections continuing in surrounding areas such as Gwangju, Suncheon, and Damyang, cooperation from facility managers and local residents is necessary.”
