Gyeongnam Province Reports 22 New COVID-19 Cases... Jinju Raised to Level 2, Sacheon Restaurant Violates Quarantine Rules (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 19th, 22 new confirmed cases have been reported since 5 PM the previous day.

By region, there are 10 in Jinju, 5 in Gimhae, 3 in Sacheon, 2 in Yangsan, and 1 each in Geoje and Hapcheon.

Among the confirmed cases in Jinju, 4 are related to a Jinju acquaintance gathering and have been classified as case numbers 3389, 3399~3201 after testing positive. This brings the total confirmed cases related to the Jinju acquaintance gathering to 61.

So far, a total of 915 people have been tested in relation to the Jinju acquaintance gathering. The test results show 61 positive cases, 803 negative cases, and 51 tests are still in progress.

The remaining 6 confirmed cases in Jinju tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and have been classified as case numbers 3387, 3390, 3402~3405.

The 5 confirmed cases in Gimhae all tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and have been classified as case numbers 3391~3395.

The 3 confirmed cases in Sacheon are related to a Sacheon restaurant and have tested positive, classified as case numbers 3388, 3398, 3408. This brings the total confirmed cases related to the Sacheon restaurant to 39.

So far, a total of 2,079 people have been tested in relation to the Sacheon restaurant. The test results show 39 positive cases, 930 negative cases, and 1,110 tests are still in progress.

The 2 confirmed cases in Yangsan are family members who tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and have been classified as case numbers 3406, 3407.

The 1 confirmed case in Geoje tested positive after contact with a confirmed case within the province and has been classified as case number 3396.

The 1 confirmed case in Hapcheon tested positive after contact with a confirmed case from another region and has been classified as case number 3397.

Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 3,405 (347 hospitalized, 3,044 discharged, 14 deceased).

Meanwhile, Jinju City will raise the social distancing level to Level 2 from 3 PM on this day until the 26th.

Additionally, Sacheon City’s quarantine authorities confirmed violations of quarantine rules such as failure to keep visitor logs at the restaurant where multiple confirmed cases occurred, and plan to prohibit gatherings for two weeks from this day until May 2, along with administrative measures such as imposing fines.
