Practical Design and Innovative Features Receive Praise

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Household goods company Lock&Lock announced on the 19th that its rice-exclusive glass container series ‘Barohan-kki’ won the Winner award at the 2021 Red Dot Award.

The German Red Dot Award is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside Germany’s iF and the United States’ IDEA. Lock&Lock has consistently won awards every year, including last year’s triple crown with a toothbrush sterilizer, Metro tumbler, and Wave cookware, as well as the Cylinder tumbler (2018) and Cookware Buzz (2017).

The Barohan-kki series by Lock&Lock, which won this time, is a product designed to conveniently prepare a single serving of rice. Lock&Lock explained that it received high marks for its practical design and innovative features.

In particular, the Barohan-kki series was released in two types: a rice-exclusive ‘freshly cooked rice container’ and a baby food-exclusive ‘first baby food container.’ Both products are praised for efficiently storing a single meal portion and are designed to be used as bowls directly after cooking, highlighting their practicality.

According to Lock&Lock, the lid features a silicone ‘safe cap handle’ that allows users to hold and move the hot container immediately. It also has a steam hole cap to control the moisture content inside the food. Additionally, it uses premium heat-resistant glass material that can withstand temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius to 400 degrees Celsius, making it widely usable in freezers, microwaves, air fryers, and dishwashers.
