Simmons Supports Pediatric and Adolescent Patients... Donates 600 Million KRW to Samsung Seoul Hospital Over 2 Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Simmons, a sleep specialty brand, announced on the 19th that it will donate 300 million KRW to Samsung Medical Center ahead of Children's Day. Simmons, which donated 300 million KRW last year to support the treatment of children battling pediatric cancer and severe rare and intractable diseases, has continued its good deeds this year as well.

Last year, amid the difficulties faced by the medical system due to the spread of COVID-19, Simmons signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Samsung Medical Center to help pediatric and adolescent patients with pediatric cancer and severe rare and intractable diseases who might otherwise be neglected. According to the agreement, Simmons made an additional donation of 300 million KRW to Samsung Medical Center this Children's Day, supporting a total of 600 million KRW over two years.

This donation will be used to reduce the financial burden of treatment for the patients and help them become healthy members of society. It will also cover costs for patients up to 24 years old receiving treatment at Samsung Medical Center, including ▲ inpatient treatment costs such as surgery and tests, ▲ outpatient treatment costs such as outpatient visits and tests, and ▲ purchase of medical assistive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids.

The 300 million KRW donated by Simmons last year was used for medical expenses for about 30 patients aged 24 or younger who require continuous hospitalization and rehabilitation treatment due to chronic or severe diseases such as acute leukemia and neuroblastoma.

Kwon Oh-sung, director of Samsung Medical Center, said, "We deeply appreciate Simmons Beds for their consistent love and support, allowing pediatric and adolescent patients undergoing treatment to focus on their recovery," and added, "We will do our best to make this donation even more meaningful by helping these young patients regain their dreams and hopes through treatment."
