Pulmuone Launches High-Protein Tofu Bar Made from Plant-Based Protein in Korea

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Pulmuone has launched the plant-based protein product 'High-Protein Tofu Bar,' which sold over 2.5 million units within four months after its release by its Japanese subsidiary, in the domestic market.

On the 19th, Pulmuone Foods announced the launch of the plant-based high-protein food 'High-Protein Tofu Bar Plain.' This new product is the second plant-based protein product following last month's launch of the home meal replacement (HMR) 'Tofu Noodle KIT,' announced as part of their declaration to lead the plant-based food market.

The 'High-Protein Tofu Bar Plain' is a snack product designed to allow easy and convenient consumption of healthy plant-based protein. Each 60g bar contains 9g of plant-based protein, making it a high-protein food, and it contains no cholesterol, reducing concerns about cholesterol compared to animal-based protein foods.

The 'High-Protein Tofu Bar Plain' is oven-baked and coated with fragrant basil oil, offering a mild flavor while allowing consumers to enjoy the natural nuttiness of tofu. It also features a chewy texture different from regular tofu. As a fully cooked product, it is useful as a breakfast substitute on the way to work or for protein supplementation before and after exercise.

This new product was first introduced in Japan last November under the name 'Tofu Bar.' Pulmuone's Japanese subsidiary Asahiko launched the plant-based food brand 'Tofu Protein' and released the product at Japan's 7-Eleven stores, selling over 2.5 million units within four months.

We plan to continue researching and developing innovative, healthy, and delicious plant-based protein products that have not been seen in the domestic market and introduce them to consumers."
