Expectations for Better Civil Service and Use as a Channel for Delivering District News
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yu Deok-yeol) has introduced a civil service queue waiting status system linked with IPTV to provide more convenient civil service.
This will allow civil petitioners to more easily check their counter and queue number, and is expected to reduce the boredom of waiting time.
To improve the inconvenience of the existing queue call system, the civil service office integrated the IPTV and queue waiting system, and installed an additional IPTV so that the screen can be clearly seen from anywhere in the civil service office.
Through the real-time waiting status information provided on the right side of the IPTV, the waiting time for civil service can be predicted, and when it is the petitioner's turn, a civil service queue call screen saying “Customer number OO, please come to counter number OO” is displayed, allowing petitioners to clearly know their counter and queue number.
In addition, the district office announced that while the waiting number is not being called, various district promotional videos will be broadcast to reduce the boredom of petitioners and deliver useful district news.
Mayor Yu Deok-yeol said, “To prevent the boredom of waiting time and to allow residents visiting the civil service office to easily check their queue number, we introduced a system using IPTV,” and added, “We will create a civil service office for residents at Dongdaemun-gu Office that feels comfortable and considerate.”
