Promotion of Various Public-Private Partnership Projects for Over a Year Since March Last Year
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Nasan River, which runs north to south through Nasan-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is being newly transformed through the voluntary efforts of local private social organizations.
According to the county on the 18th, in March last year, the 'Nasan Riverside Family Outing Park Promotion Committee,' a public-private cooperative organization, was launched to establish tourism infrastructure around the Nasan riverside for regional development and to promote tourism resources, marking the start of full-scale project implementation.
This promotion committee was formed by the unification of social organizations such as the Nasan-myeon Youth Association, the Crime Prevention Unit, and the Farmers' Association, with participation from Nasan-myeon, the Nasan-myeon Prosperity Association, and the Nasan-myeon Village Leaders' Council.
Immediately after its launch, the committee carried out continuous environmental maintenance, including tidying the Nasan riverside and Aengdu Park area, transplanting willow trees, removing underbrush in the forest area between Aengdu Park and Nasan Bridge, and clearing underbrush in the Nasan River waterfront park.
Additionally, with the participation of about 250 members, the park cultivation project was conducted, including transplanting 10 cherry trees, planting 10,000㎡ of rapeseed flowers, planting 10,000 poppies, and planting 10,000 daffodil bulbs.
Along with this, they proposed major facilities for the creation of the Nasan River Family Outing Park to the Iksan Regional Land Management Office, completing projects such as maintenance roads, two multipurpose plazas, willow forest maintenance, and pavilion installation by the end of last year.
This year, they plan to complete detailed projects already reflected in the budget of 800 million won, including maintenance of four drainage ditches, installation of four wooden bridges, preparation of a jokgu (Korean foot volleyball) court site, and tree planting.
A county official said, "The regional development project, which began with the interest of local residents, is showing results through public-private cooperation," and added, "Based on the research service results conducted last year to revitalize the Nasan Riverside Family Outing Park, we will spare no administrative support, including applying for central government public projects."
