[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA announced on the 19th that it will hold the '2021 Global Partnering Nordic Week' online until the 28th of next month to expand the supply of domestic materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) companies to Nordic global companies.
Global Partnering is a project that supports our small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies in establishing cooperative relationships with global companies and entering the global value chain (GVC) stably. Through this event, KOTRA plans to support the establishment of cooperative relationships between our companies and Nordic global companies in fields such as automobiles, machinery, and shipbuilding & marine.
At this event, representatives from 20 global companies from four Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland) including automobile manufacturer Volvo, the world's largest shipping company Maersk, and battery cell producer Freyr will participate. Programs such as one-on-one video consultations between domestic companies and Nordic global companies and webinars introducing strategies for entering the Nordic global value chain will be held.
In line with the 'European Green Deal Policy,' which declared carbon neutrality by 2050, Nordic companies have a high interest in eco-friendly fields such as ▲electric vehicles ▲electric propulsion ships ▲secondary batteries. Accordingly, KOTRA expects a high possibility of cooperation with our companies that possess excellent technological capabilities.
Kwon Pyung-oh, President of KOTRA, said, "With the reorganization of the global value chain due to trade disputes and supply chain disruptions, it has become more important for our SoBuJang companies to build strategic networks with leading global companies," adding, "We will actively seek practical cooperation opportunities between our companies and Nordic global companies through this event."
