Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Selects 17 Projects for Family Communication and Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 18th that it has selected a total of 17 projects through a public contest for the 'Family Communication and Participation Project' to raise awareness of family diversity and promote an equal family culture.
The selected projects will be planned directly by private corporations or organizations, and various families such as single-parent families, multicultural families, adolescent parents, and single-person households will participate and operate the programs.
In the field of improving family relationships and strengthening communication, seven projects were selected, including ▲ family psychotherapy and parent education (Gajok Kkoci Pieosseumnida) ▲ digital literacy education and counseling for grandparent-grandchild families to reduce the digital media usage gap (Digital Competency Enhancement Program ‘Haengbok Login’).
In the field of family capacity building and expanding social participation, four projects were chosen, including ▲ mentoring for unmarried mothers raising children and education on improving living environments (Unmarried Mothers Family Support Project) ▲ child psychology, financial education, and Korean language education for marriage immigrant women (Multicultural Family Communication and Participation Project).
In the field of spreading a culture of equal work and care, three projects were selected, including ▲ development and education of father-child education programs, and support for father-child small group activities (Creating a Joyful Care Culture for Fathers) ▲ education for caregivers of children, elderly, and disabled persons (Building Care-Friendly Villages for Community Recovery).
In response to new family service demands, three programs were selected, including ▲ support for childbirth kits, childcare supplies, psychological counseling, and parenting education for adolescent parents (Family Solution Project) ▲ future planning programs for single-person households (Hope Plus, Sharing Multiply).
Families wishing to participate in the family communication and participation programs can apply directly to the organizations conducting the projects, and detailed information can be found on the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family website.
Kim Gwonyoung, Director of Family Policy at the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, said, "We hope that many families will improve family relationships and communication, spread a culture of caring together, and expand social participation of diverse families through the family communication and participation programs."
