[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 16th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province revisited the Gyeongnam Provincial Government and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to request the removal of the speculative overheated district designation for Dong-eup and Buk-myeon areas in Uichang-gu.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport designated Uichang-gu (excluding Daesan-myeon) in Changwon City as a speculative overheated district and Seongsan-gu as a regulated area on December 18 of last year.
Since the designation of the regulated areas, Changwon City has requested the removal of the speculative overheated district designation, expressing concerns that the overall apartment sales index in Uichang-gu and Seongsan-gu has been continuously declining, the apartment transaction volume in Dong-eup and Buk-myeon areas has sharply decreased, and the average prices have fallen, which could lead to a downturn in the local economy.
On this day, the city conveyed the current situation of the real estate market in Dong-eup and Buk-myeon, as well as the damages and demands of local residents. They also requested that the issue be submitted as an agenda item to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Residential Policy Deliberation Committee for removal.
Choi Jae-an, head of the Housing Policy Division of Changwon City, emphasized, "We will strive to remove the speculative overheated district designation, considering the wishes of the residents of Dong-eup and Buk-myeon and the local circumstances."
