[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Eugene Group's parent company Eugene Corporation and its affiliate Dongyang have established guidelines to create an innovative and flexible corporate culture.

On the 16th, Eugene Corporation announced that it judged a new way of working is required to grow in line with the post-COVID-19 era changes, and created behavioral standards that serve as criteria for work and shared them with employees.

To induce organizational change through employees' innovative actions, Eugene Corporation derived five core keywords: self-awareness, start of change, direction of change, execution of change, and sustainability. Based on these, they established behavioral standards such as ▲If you don't change, you will be changed ▲I must change for others to change ▲Find solutions, not faults ▲1㎥ of execution is needed more than 100㎥ of will ▲Challenge change and do not fear failure.

Dongyang is also establishing and operating TYism21 (TYism: a compound of TY, the abbreviation of Dongyang, and ism, meaning behavior), which is a set of specific behavioral standards for employees to adapt to changes in working methods and organizational culture due to the spread of non-face-to-face culture.

Dongyang's TYism21 includes key points such as ▲Consider the past and contemplate the future ▲Don't find excuses, find ways ▲There is no fixed answer. The answer is created ▲Become a professional starting with yourself ▲The customer's perspective is constantly moving ▲Reject conventions and annoy your boss ▲Giving up is more shameful than failure ▲Just because others do it doesn't mean you should ▲Throw away work done just for reporting ▲Reduce not only body weight but everything ▲Settle for the present if you want to fail.

At the beginning of this year, Eugene Group Chairwoman Yoo Kyung-sun urged in her New Year's address, "For innovation, the perspectives and capabilities of executives and employees must be at their best," emphasizing, "Especially in times of change, the potential and value of a company depend on 'which direction to pivot' and the 'capabilities' to execute it."

Eugene Corporation and Dongyang plan to conduct organizational culture innovation campaigns to encourage empathy and participation among members, and to understand and practice through various contents and programs.

A Eugene Group official said, "We have considered the values that members should focus on to achieve the vision and goals the company must pursue in a changing management environment and prepared concrete behavioral standards," adding, "We plan to build a system where employees can take pride in their work and create new added value on their own."
