Gwanak-gu Announces Open Call for Operators of Ontact Youth Culture Zone... 3 Million KRW Support Provided

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting business operators to participate in the ‘Ontact Youth Culture Zone Operation Project,’ which utilizes privately owned spaces to provide youth networking spaces and various programs, until the 23rd.

First launched last year, the ‘Ontact Youth Culture Zone Operation Project’ received very high satisfaction from participants. According to survey results, many expressed a preference for online participation amid the COVID-19 situation, so this year it will be operated in a non-face-to-face, online format.

The district plans to operate youth spaces freely accessible to young people and offering various self-development programs through agreements with private operators from July to October, supporting the creation of youth culture and network building.

Applicants must be registered organizations (companies) located in Gwanak-gu, possessing a space of at least 33㎡, and capable of regularly operating programs such as Ontact (Ontack) lifestyle lectures, performances, and events targeting youth.

Five locations will be selected based on criteria including accessibility, applicant’s understanding of the project, and program effectiveness. Selected operators will receive up to 3 million KRW in project funds and must operate regular programs at least three times a month.

The application period is until the 23rd. Private operators (organizations) wishing to participate should complete the application form and required documents and submit them in person to the Youth Policy Division or via email (2015031218@ga.go.kr).

Application forms and further details can be found on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Announcements → Official Notices or By Category → Welfare → Youth → Youth News) or by contacting the Gwanak-gu Youth Policy Division.

Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “Through the Ontact Youth Culture Zone Operation Project, we will discover shared youth spaces in the community and support their establishment as accessible youth cultural hubs. We will continue to implement various projects that help meet the diverse needs of young people affected by COVID-19 and promote the spread of youth culture.”
