Gangnam-gu Reports 23 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday Afternoon and Today... 9 Cases Under Investigation for Infection Routes


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] From the afternoon of the 14th to the 15th, 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases (Nos. 1713~1735) occurred in Gangnam-gu.


Cases 1715, 1726, 1727, 1730, and 1731 were confirmed through contact with confirmed cases from other regions; cases 1716, 1719, 1720, 1722, 1723, 1729, and 1734 were family members of previously confirmed Gangnam-gu residents; and cases 1732 and 1735 were confirmed through contact with confirmed Gangnam-gu residents.


Cases 1713, 1714, 1717, 1718, 1721, 1724, 1725, 1728, and 1733 were confirmed due to symptoms such as coughing, but their infection routes are unknown and epidemiological investigations are ongoing.


Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "Seoul's new COVID-19 confirmed cases have remained in the 200s for two consecutive days. At times like this, proactive specimen testing based on the infectious disease response principle of ‘early detection, early containment’ is crucial. We ask all residents to visit temporary screening clinics or the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center for specimen testing if they experience any symptoms, no matter how minor."
