[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Korea International Trade Association held a special online lecture on the 15th about export response strategies following the implementation of the new Chinese cosmetics approval and registration management methods starting in May.
This special lecture was organized to guide the newly implemented cosmetics approval and registration management methods by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China, effective from May 1, and to help Korean companies establish response strategies by explaining the major changes.
Juyeon Kim, Head of the Comprehensive Research Center at the China Inspection and Quarantine Science Research Institute, advised, "For products already registered, companies should understand the application schedule according to each regulation and prepare supplementary materials related to ingredients. For new products, it is necessary to review the promotional wording on the packaging in preparation for efficacy evaluation." She added, "Although the implementation of this management method simplifies the cosmetics approval and registration procedures, barriers may increase in areas such as efficacy evaluation and ingredient information registration, so it is advisable to seek expert assistance for prompt and accurate preparation of materials."
Hyeran Lee, CEO of iQwa, a Wanghong marketing company, said, "Utilizing big data provided by Baidu, Alibaba, Taobao, and JD.com will be very helpful when establishing marketing strategies." She added, "Also, after enhancing brand and product awareness through various methods such as website creation, search keyword advertising, and social networking service (SNS) management, leveraging Wanghong marketing will double the effect."
Byungyu Kim, Head of Member Support who has experience working as the Beijing branch manager of the Trade Association, stated, "The recent trend in Chinese marketing is online marketing represented by live commerce," and added, "We will further strengthen support for our companies' online marketing."
