[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 15th, 39 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there were 19 in Jinju, 9 in Gimhae, 6 in Yangsan, and 1 each in Sacheon, Tongyeong, Miryang, Uiryeong, and Sancheong.
Among the 18 confirmed cases in Jinju, all tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as numbers 3210, 3213, and 3217 through 3232.
Among them, number 3213 is a student at an elementary school in Jinju where Gyeongnam 3203 works. The quarantine authorities have conducted tests on a total of 31 people related to the elementary school, including 25 students and 6 staff members. The test results showed 1 positive case (Gyeongnam 3213), 24 negatives, and 6 are still being tested.
The remaining 1 person felt symptoms on their own, got tested, and was classified as number 3233 after testing positive. The infection route is under investigation.
Among the 9 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 5 tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as numbers 3208, 3209, and 3234 through 3236.
Number 3236 was confirmed to be attending an elementary school in Gimhae. The quarantine authorities have set up a screening clinic at the school and are conducting tests on 45 people including students and staff.
Three cases are related to the Gimhae Elderly Daycare Center and were classified as numbers 3238, 3239, and 3240 after testing positive. This brings the total confirmed cases related to the Gimhae Elderly Daycare Center to 30.
One person was a contact of a confirmed case from another region and tested positive before release from quarantine, classified as number 3237.
Among the 6 confirmed cases in Yangsan, 4 are from the same family and tested positive after contact with confirmed cases from other regions, classified as numbers 3242 through 3245.
One person who had contact with a confirmed case within the province and one who felt symptoms on their own tested positive and were classified as numbers 3241 and 3246.
One confirmed case each in Sacheon and Miryang felt symptoms on their own, got tested, and were classified as numbers 3215 and 3216. The infection routes are under investigation.
One confirmed case each in Tongyeong and Uiryeong tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as numbers 3212 and 3211.
Among them, one was confirmed to be attending an elementary school in Tongyeong. The quarantine authorities are conducting tests on 135 people related to the elementary school.
One confirmed case in Sancheong was a contact of a confirmed case related to the metropolitan area and was classified as number 3214 after testing positive.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 3,243 (254 hospitalized, 2,975 discharged, 14 deceased).
