[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] On the 15th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that it is conducting intensive inspections for illegal camera installations in school restrooms and changing rooms within its jurisdiction to prevent sex crimes such as illegal filming.
In this inspection, the police are collaborating with the Gangdong and Songpa Office of Education to crack down on illegal cameras using new infrared detectors. Additionally, they are attaching self-produced 'Poseuni Hand' stickers to cover holes suspected of having miniature cameras installed. The Poseuni Hand sticker, a circular sticker with a diameter of 2.4 cm, symbolizes the hand of Poseuni, representing police officers, and is intended to cover suspicious holes and marks to eradicate illegal filming crimes.
During the inspection, Songpa Police Station plans to request facility improvements from the Office of Education and the respective schools for the detailed locations where the Poseuni Hand stickers are attached, aiming to alleviate the anxiety of students and staff when using restrooms.
Kim Sonyeon, Chief of Songpa Police Station, stated, "We will continue to work closely with related organizations to carry out inspections and preventive activities against illegal cameras so that residents can feel safe."
